Welcome to Ebell Lofts
1100 E 3rd St, Long Beach, CA 90802
The historic Ebell Theater, constructed in 1924 by C.T. McGrew in the Spanish Renaissance architectural style, showcases a Churrigueresque facade characterized by lavishly ornate baroque elements, including carved pillars, molding, and archways. Originally designed as a cinema, the theater suffered earthquake damage in the 1930s but was later revitalized. It continued to function as a movie theater until the 1950s. In 2004, the iconic building underwent a transformation into residential lofts by the Long Beach Ebell Club, an all-women's organization named after women's education advocate Adrian John Ebell.
Ebell Lofts currently comprises 11 residential loft units, each ranging in size from 1,200 to 2,200 square feet. The stark modern interiors of these lofts create a compelling contrast with the ornate exterior. Surrounded by eclectic shops and popular restaurants, the building at 1100 E 3rd St features exposed brick walls, arched windows, open rafters and ductwork, polished concrete floors, and other elements that define the classic industrial modern aesthetic of these unique loft for sale.
